How to Get Noticed
Tuesday, May 19th, 2009So you want to know how to get noticed? Well, it has long been recognized in the field of Marketing that in order to get noticed by a wider audience you have to be really, really good…. or conversely really, REALLY bad!
The worst thing you can be if you hope to get noticed, and get your company or yourself in the spotlight, is ‘just average’, ‘pretty good’ orĀ simply ‘mediocre’ - none of these will ‘cut the mustard’.
This advice has been latterly exemplified by the fantastically popular X-Factor franchise that has taken over prime-time TV slots around the world. You basically ONLY get to see the very best…and the very worst - and the 99.9% of in-betweeners just don’t get a look in a and remain, probably deservedly, unknowns.
Now it may not necessarily be your ‘original’ dream to become well-known for being ‘crap’ - but if your aim is to become some sort of celebrity (in the arguable definition of such a thing by today’s standards…and that of course is if the word ’standard’ is even applicable) at any cost - then being absolutely rubbish can at least grab you anything from a few minutes ‘prime time’ exposure, to landing some type of advertising contract, to getting some sort of media remuneration, or simply just bring you some internet traffic… any of which could lead to a few more dollars in your pocket… and/or something to tell your grand-kidsĀ - at the very least
BUT if you are actually a small business owner - and you need a Video produced that is likely to get some ‘viral’ traffic because it is laughably useless, then you may want to consider using an ‘expert’ production company to help you achieve your aim - it needs to be a company that has the right credentials , one that will at all costs avoid your video marketing being ‘forgetably average’, or ‘unremarkably pretty good’…
Here is a fine example of ‘how to get noticed’ - by being really crap:
Take a look at this ‘quality’ production and hurry to book their production assistance soon…they’ll will be most likely overrun with clients when this video garners even more viral hits - as it surely will. And remember it takes a rare skill to be THIS bad:
